Shop Manager Job Description
BAM Store + Space is an independent gift shop in Easton selling art, homeware, jewellery, toys, books and more. We are hiring a Shop Manager to help run both our physical and online stores. Please read the details below and apply if you are able to commit to the hours outlined.
We are looking for an organised and motivated person who will offer a warm welcome and excellent customer service to everyone that visits the shop. You must be able to work well in a team, gets things done and have a passion for independent businesses and the Bristol art scene. We welcome members of staff who can bring fresh ideas to the business and are ready to help us grow in 2025.
This role will comprise of 2 days per week (15 hours). Days can be flexible but will include one weekend shift.
Responsibilities
- Opening and closing the shop
- Helping customers in store with purchases, recommendations etc
- Packing and sending out online orders
- Answering customer queries/complaints via email and socials
- Managing stock inventory, orders and deliveries
- Assisting with website maintenance, social media and email marketing
- Assisting with stock purchasing decisions
- Merchandising in the shop and creating window displays
- Ensuring security of stock and cash at all times
Personal Specification
- Retail and/or marketing experience preferred
- Must be able to demonstrate ability to lead a team
- Excellent customer service skills
- Must enjoy carrying out tasks to a high standard and with attention to detail
- Must feel comfortable manning the shop by yourself - full training will be given
- You must be permitted to work in the UK
Hours: 15 hours per week (must include Saturdays)
Pay: £25,350 pro rata (£13ph)
Holiday: 5.6 weeks pro rata (11.5 days)
