February half term is just around the corner and there are lots of brilliant events for families to enjoy in Bristol. Outdoor adventures, theatre, craft workshops, cultural events and lots more activities for all ages. So whether you're a Bristol local or you're just visiting, take a look at our handy events guide and plan a half term filled with fun.

1. Bristol Light Festival

Kick off half term by catching the end of this annual arts event in the city centre. Astronauts in the cathedral, giant inflatable arches, giant flowers, mirror installations and, of course, the neon swings! All ages will love exploring the light installations and it makes for a fun night out with the family.

2. Clifton Observatory Scavenger Hunt

3. Lunar New Year Celebrations

4. Fire Lighting Workshop

6. Midnight Mole

The Cherry Orchard is Madame Ranevsky's favourite place and tonight she's saying goodbye one last time before moving house. A heart-warming, moon-dancing adventure – with a nod to Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard – full of puppetry and music. Suitable for children aged 6 months - 4 years and their families.

7. Ships Family Activity

Family Activity Ships M Shed - BAM Store + Space bristol family events guide

A family activity day on the theme of ships. There will be arts and crafts, an opportunity to experience some of the activities sailors got up to at sea, trails and much more! Afterwards, follow a map to navigate your way around the M Shed galleries in search of treasure and historical finds.

8. Board Games Day

10. Woodland Tales with Granddad

Something is happening in the woods. Machines are gathering at its edge and a mysterious call is heard across the valley. Laura the ladybird, Jeffrey the spider, Brett the woodlouse and Willoughby the woodpecker are worried. Velda the vixen knows there’s only one person who can help them – Granddad. But is there enough time? Can they save the wood? And will the mystery stranger help? A magical puppetry show for ages 3-8 and their families.
